The cast gives some really great performances
Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars vied to play the Jackal in the 1973 film, but the role went to then-unknown Edward Fox because director Fred Zinnemann believed he could blend in with a crowd. The story is solid, with twists and turns that keep you engaged, and the cinematography perfectly captures the eerie atmosphere.
Lynch’s acting felt pretty underwhelming
That being said, I have to point out that Ms. Her performance felt very one-dimensional, which unfortunately stood out in a cast full of strong and nuanced portrayals. It’s not about race – I can think of some brilliant black actresses who could have brought more depth and complexity to the role. It’s just that her performance didn’t match the quality of the show as a whole, which was disappointing.
It’s certainly not perfect, but it deserves attention
Still, the show is worth watching for its story and outstanding performances by other cast members.
